Why Integrating with AliExpress

If you want to run an Ecommerce business without ever touching any products, then dropshipping is the way to go. One of the easiest ways to run a dropshipping Ecommerce business is through AliExpress integration.

AliExpress is owned by Alibaba, the world's largest retailer. Its website connects Chinese sellers and international buyers. When your Ecommerce business is fully integrated with AliExpress, this is how an order happens:

  1. A customer buys a product in your store, and you get paid for the price you listed for the product.

  2. The order is then instantly sent to the corresponding seller on AliExpress, and you pay the seller the price they charge for the product on AliExpress using the money the customer just paid you.

  3. The seller ships the product to the customer directly, and the receipt indicates you as the seller, NOT the Chinese seller. Transaction closes.

You may be wondering, "Aren't the products on AliExpress of low quality?" I believe that's a misconception. On one side, yes, because there are so many sellers on the AliExpress marketplace, there is bound to be some sellers who sell low-quality products. However, Alibaba has put together a very solid procedure to police the sellers and protect its buyers. The built-in rating and review system on AliExpress also helps weed out bad players in the system. What's more important, China didn't become the world's factory for no reason. It has some of the most skillful workers in the world. Your Apple Watch, iPhone, and Nike shoes were probably all made in China. You just need to spend time to find reputable sellers that sell quality products.

Zero Up vs. Oberlo

There are currently two easy solutions to integrate your store with AliExpress: Zero Up and Oberlo. They are both addons for Shopify, and share some common features you would usually expect:

  • Product importing from AliExpress

  • Automatic order fulfilling

  • Product customization

  • Real time order tracking

  • Sales reports

But the similarity stops here. Zero Up as some advanced features that Oberlo doesn't have. Its Sales Funnel Builder and Profit Multiplier allow you to increase the average Customer Lifetime Value and Return on Investment (ROI) by at least 200% or more. This is achieved by allowing you to upsell customers right after they place an order. For example, if a customer adds a $10 flashlight into the cart, they may see a page that sells a $15 battery pack for the flashlight. When they add the battery pack to the cart, they will then see another page that sells a $50 night vision goggles. This sales funnel has three products. With Zero Up, you can build as many sales funnels as you want. These are powerful tools that are often used in Internet Marketing but now Zero Up has made it possible for them to be used in Ecommerce as well.

Another advantage Zero Up has over Oberlo is its extensive collection of training videos. The creator of Zero Up, Fred Lam, has gone through the trenches and built an impressive $20-million Ecommerce empire in the past 8 years. He is an expert in every aspect of Ecommerce: niche selection, product selection, Ecommerce store creation, Facebook advertising, and Google AdWords. He left no stones unturned in the training videos for the Zero Up software. They are not boring theories but packed with real-world examples. In my opinion, the training is worth as much as the Zero Up software itself.

Finally, Zero Up is also more affordable in the long term. You pay a one-time fee of $1,497 or 3 payments of $597 for lifetime access to the software. Oberlo charges a monthly fee of $29.90 or $79.90 per month. If you run a serious Ecommerce business, the $29.90 plan is not going to be sufficient as it only allows 500 orders per month. For the Pro Plan that costs $79.90, it's going to be more expensive if you use it for more than 18 months.

4 Steps to Integrate Your Shopify Store with AliExpress Using Zero Up

Step 1: Install Zero Up in Shopify

We start with an empty store:

First, let's connect your Shopify store with Zero Up. Just enter your Shopify store URL, and click on Install.

Then authorize Zero Up to be installed with Shopify.

Zero Up is now installed in your Shopify store.

That was fast, wasn't it?

Step 2: Build your store using the Zero Up Store Wizard

First, select the theme that's going to work the best for your store.

Then select the niche you are going after.

Enter the basic information for the store.

Once we click on "PUBLISH YOUR STORE", the store will be created for you in real time. Ready to see it? Let's take a look!

So that is your store! If you go to Catalog, you are going to see that products have already been added to your store.

Amazing, right?

Step 3: Add products to your store using Zero Up's Product Engine

Here is the Product Engine.

Let's say we want to sell baby bibs in our store. I am going to search for baby bibs here. Zero Up is going to extract all the baby bib products and vendor information straight from AliExpress right within Zero Up.

The Product Engine is great because it shows you the statistics of each product: the number of orders that have been placed, number of reviews it has received, and price of course. You can easily add a product to your store with the click of a button.

If we go to the Products section, you are going to see that the product has been added to my store with all the product images and the complete product description.

All the variants have been added right into my store. Here is the product page live on my site:

Really amazing stuff, isn't it?

Once a customer places an order, Zero Up is going to place the order directly from the vendor of the product on AliExpress, and tell the vendor specifically to use your store as the sender's name, NOT the vendor.

Step 4: Add all the necessary pages you need

These may include your About Us page, Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, etc. All you have to do is go to Pages in MyShopify, and select the pages you want to add to your store.

Then go to Navigation, create a menu, and add the pages to the menu.

Now when you refresh your store, you are going see all the new pages.

OK, there you have it! These are the four simple steps to integrate your Shopify store with AliExpress.
